Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@/ 'goUmez/s@–LEE/ GOH-m on July 22, 1992) was an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez's acting career started with the children's TV series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). When she was a teenager Gomez was famous for her performance as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Apart from her television show, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) and as Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. In addition, she is the executive producer and also stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu mystery-comedy show Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received praise from critics about the show in addition to nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez, who was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. The albums all reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200. The albums were all gold-certified and earned the Recording Industries Association of America's (RIAA). Gomez's sophomore studio album Revival (2015), debuted at number one in the US, was certified platinum by the RIAA and was followed by three US top ten songs: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020), Gomez's third studio album, was her third consecutive top 10 album in the US. The first single, "Lose You, to Love Me" is also the first single to top the charts in the US. She released Revelacion in Spanish and was a big hit and earned her an Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won numerous accolades including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. Additionally, she broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2020. Her social media followers are vast and she's the most popular actor and musician on Instagram. Her other ventures include clothing, makeup perfume, handbags and fragrance lines. She has worked with several charitable organizations , and was an UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
